Most TV's our days are VERY simular
There isn't really a specialised "gaming" TV.
The basics you need for a TV you can play games on are
1. HD
2. 1080i or 1080p
3. Size (Don't want it being to big or to small)
4. Sound (Crystal clear sound is always an advntage for online gaming)
5. Surround sound (this is a good investment because you can hear enemy's footsteps coming from behind you)
6. Price (you don't want to be spending a fortune)

What room are you planning on getting it in?

ok this is my honest opinion.
i used to play on a flat screen 32 inch via HDMI and i found that there was a certain delay between when i moved the stick and how it corresponded with the movement in the game.

there for i researched the best tv to use for gaming then suddenly i came across some information. it said that the best tv to use for gaming isnt a tv, its a monitor.
so i went out and bought a VGA cable to connect to my 20 inch monitor and it is fantastic and u will see the difference straight away and the response time on it is perfect.

Hope i helped

Panasonic Viera TC-P42G25
My gaming TV!!!

Really crisp picture and display cause it is PLASMA!!!!
The sound is also great and it is a very sleek design. I am able to set it to a full 1080p setting because it is FULL HD. It is a little bit pricy though ($900) but it is a top quality TV and perfect for gaming! It's also just the right size for a gaming room or living room. Mine is in my bedroom though with my J-tag.
It also has some built in reflective screen acording to the box. It actually works though so it is helpful when trying to see noobs across the map without sunlight getting in ur way.

Plasma rules!
