I've been thinking, with the large success of the Wii, do you think the Wii U will be as successful? I mean, whilst the Wii U is bringing in technology, will it have as strong of a following as the Wii did? I guess what really got me thinking about this was when the creator of God Of War commented on the new Wii U technology, by saying that, " It doesn't mean the Wii U isn't going to work, but I think the perfect storm of interest that worked for the Wii won't happen again, because there's enough competition speaking to those interests at a cheaper cost."

I won't lie to you, personally, the Wii disappointed me, I felt that they focused on getting the console out there, then completely lost interest in making core games for it, for example, there was only 2 Zelda's out for the Wii(is that right?), and I felt they could have used the technology more to make a more wide variety of games. Obviously, allot of core gamers may feel a bit alienated now after the experiences of the Wii, and will be more skeptical about the new Wii, especially after the 3DS, whilst its cool technology, they're already moving on, and with them releasing little to none games for the 3DS, who's to say that they will work hard on the Wii U's games. All I saw was third party games, and they didn't really utilize the full features, but I'm sure allot of core gamer's woulda thought the same, but, that wasn't what the Wii was about, it was more about appealing to non-gamers, and families, which has proved too be quite successful, due to the ease of controls, and family friendly image.

So,, with the announcement of the Wii U, which seems to be focusing on core gamers, and now having a large controller(which kinda confused me, because not too long ago, Nintendo criticized Microsoft and Sony for their controllers being too cluttered with buttons), will it have as large a following? It doesn't seem to be as non-gamer friendly(maybe like the Gamecube, that being one of my favorite consoles, which games left me in shock and awe! Seriously, Super Mario Sunshine was beautiful, and had great gameplay to boot!), which makes me think, will it succumb to the same fate as the gamecube? Less successful to its predecessor?

I know it's introducing something new, with the touch screen implemented in gameplay, and now stepping up with HD graphics, but it doesn't seem as user friend, the target audience has shifted again, especially since this new technology will probably cost allot more, and especially since currently, it seems to be only 1 player can be played from one price, indicates to me this technology isn't cheap.

It's also important to consider the fact that, when the Wii introduced the technology to have you moving to control the game, Sony and Microsoft could retaliate, with an add on for the console, and a software update(Kinect and Move), which seem to be more powerful, and control better, so, who's to say they won't set up to the plate, with a new controller, introducing touch screen into their games, especially since the PS3, apparently, still hasn't been used to it's 'full potential'.

TL;DR, do you think the WII U be as successful as the WII, or will it have less of a following, due to its new image?
