well the xbox in general has a 55% percent failiure rate or something like that....

I've had my xbox for a few years and been gaming massively on it between me and my bro. Never had any heating problems. I left it on for 4 days straight back when Veruckt came out. Not sure why so many people have problems, but mine is just a general xbox. No special skins or anything.

The new Xbox's have a different chip called the Jasper chip and that is suppose to prevent the Red Rings Of Death.

ya ive heard that the elite is most likly to get rrod so i might just get a regualr one and save an extra 100 bucks

all new xbox's should now have the Jasper chipset and that has a very low RROD rate the ps3 now fails more than the new Jasper chipset one of our admins casca just got the RROD on his xbox that does not have the Jasper chip so i think soon everyone will need to get a new one the elites are the same as white ones on fail rate

I think that now since the only 2 SKUs of 360s out are the Elite and Pro, the Pro is probably your best bet. I've had my Pro for a while, and it hasn't froze up/RROD'd yet, and I doubt it will. Also, Microsoft updated the chip inside of it, so theres a smaller percentage of failing.
