I want to wipe my laptop clear of everything it is a windows vista system any ideas?

Either format the HDD, or contact the company (Mac, Apple, etc.) and go through the proper steps. Hope this helps.

what make of laptop is it?
i have a toshiba and to reset it back to factory settings i have to turn it completely off, then hold the '0' key (zero) then whilst holding press the power button and keep it held down and it opens the factory settings options.
on the other hand my last laptop was a HP and to reset it back to factory settings i had to go to start, then search 'system restore' and i followed the steps from there.
on my very first laptop which was a acer i had to turn it completely off and when i turned it back on, as soon as the screen says 'acer' i had to press f8 (might be alt + f8) but the combination can be different depending on what laptop you have.
