Hi, I'm 360YYNoscope, and I've been seeing alot of people on search and destroy, alot of people, even as high as 10th prestige trying to quickscope, but missing alot of easy shots. My goal for this post is to teach people that are new to quickscoping a few tips that can mean 90 percent of the time you will hit a quickscope instead of, say, 10 percent.
Well, let's get into it. First of all I will be using a few videos for reference, because I'm not the best at tutorials. I will put them at the end of this post. Also if you guys don't mind could you +rep me after your done reading the tutorial? And post some feedback as well, to keep the thread alive and maybe make it a sticky if you guys think it's a good tutorial.
Introduction

What is "Quickscoping"?

Quickscoping is the act of scoping in quickly, shooting at someone (Usually close range, but if your a really good shot you can hit longshots by quickscoping too. But you shouldn't do this in public matches, you should only really be quickscoping if you need to, if someone gets too close and it's too late to pull out a secondary weapon.) and then scoping out, or "unscoping".

It originated in CoD2, but it wasn't called quickscoping back then, it was just plain sniping. The term was used in the early days of CoD4, and now every day the term is used by someone, in usually every lobby.

But, like I said before, you really only should quickscope if you need to. Otherwise it's just a waste of time and a waste of a potential kill.

What you will need.

The two main ways people quickscope in Mw2 are sleight of hand pro quickscoping, or SoH for short, or Marathon quickscoping, or Mara sniping if you like. Marathon is the more skilled in a way, but in another, it's a bit easier as it gives you more time to line up your shot, as it takes a bit longer to scope in, or "zoom". People say it takes more skill because if a sleight of hand pro sniper walks around a corner at the same time as a marathon sniper, most likely if neither of them knifes, they're going to quickscope. Of course, as most people know, sleight of hand pro makes your gun aim down the sights quicker, so it's more likely that the person using sleight of hand pro will win. So a marathon quickscoper will need to be a bit more cautious when going around corners.

Sleight of hand pro is the more common method of quickscoping, it's used by many famous, good snipers such as iiReapzz, zzirGrizz, most of FaZe clan, most of OpTiC clan, and much more clans just like them. I prefer sleight of hand, just because of how fast the guns kill in this game, especially with stopping power.

So, you are going to need either of these perks to start off with. You can of course, if you want to challenge yourself, use other first perks too, but those two are the best to use.

In terms of guns, the barrett .50 cal is a good gun to start off with, it has good damage, it can shoot as much bullets as you want in a second, has a 10 round clip, it's semi-automatic, however it has a huge amount of recoil while scoped in. But, you really should switch to the intervention after you get good with the barrett .50 cal, because the intervention requires alot more skill and in my opinion looks alot cooler. It also has less hitmarkers. It has a 5 round clip and is bolt action, which means you can fire once every second and a half, give or take a few milliseconds.

Third Perks
Third perks are often disputed about between players, mainly snipers. Usually I go with commando, which is useful if you need to run from someone using an automatic gun in Search and Destroy, and you need to jump off a building. The one downfall of commando though, well for me, is that I have a headset, and I usually use Ninja on my automatic gun classes, and it's really hard for me to play, while I can hear my own footsteps. So keep that in mind while using commando. Steady aim is good, especially the pro version, but, this is a tutorial about quickscoping, not "hardscoping".

How to quickscope.
So, we've gone over what quickscoping is, what perks to use, what guns you should use, so why not start quickscoping. It takes a while to perfect, but that's what this tutorial is for.

The first thing I'm going to tell you, is stay still as you are scoping in and shooting. Sprinting then quickscoping is a huge mistake, and usually, even if your crosshairs are on the enemy, it will still not register when you shoot at him/her. It's annoying, I know, I'd love to sprint around quickscoping then running again but it's a 50/50 chance. You have to stay still, just for a second.

Another great tactic is drag scoping, which still counts as a quickscope, in my opinion, as long as it's quick. A drag scope is when you are about to quickscope someone, and they move, so you drag your scope over to them and shoot them, and hopefully get the kill.

Some people think quickscoping is when in the game winning killcam the scope doesn't fully go in. This is called a blackscope. (Well that's what me and many other people like to call it.)

The basic technique of quickscoping is simply get your sniper, find someone to shoot at, scope in, shoot just as it's fully zoomed in and zoom out. You might want to practice in a private match or a free for all, but I would suggest a private match with your friend, that way is alot easier and less frustrating. It would also help if you have a friend who is an experienced quickscoper who can also help you out.

Well this is the end of my tutorial. Please +rep and post what you think and anything I should add to this post. I did promise some videos at the end so here you guys go.

P.S This took me about an hour to type, so please keep the topic alive 8)

I admire that you put time and work into this, but anyone can search on YouTube on how to do this.

Obviously not lol, I saw someone willy G shotting, not on purpose either, I asked them why they were doing that and they said they were trying to quickscope.
