Hello everybody, I am considering buying a Hauppauge HD PVR for recording my gameplay, but I dont know if it will work, can you guys please help?
Info:

I am currently not using a TV to play on my Xbox, I am using a "Samsung Syncmaster 2232BW" , which has no sound, and is just functioning like a computer monitor, to get sound I use a wireless turtle beach x41 headset, which doesnt really matter for my question.

To connect my xbox to my monitor, I am using a converter cable with HDMI connected from the xbox, and VGA connected to the samsung monitor.
(the cable looks just like this)

Will I be able to use a Hauppauge HD PVR? and if not, what will I have to purchase to make it work? (except a new monitor. lol)

Thank you for your time, I hope you will answer this complicated question, since I am not an expert around this stuff

Or what about some other kind of cables? Converters? Something like that?
Would the regular component cable that comes with the xbox going from the xbox into the Hauppauge HD PVR, then having component - VGA cable going into my monitor.
Would that work?
Thanks for the answers so far.

Or is it possible to just have a HDMI -> VGA cable going from xbox to monitor, and then just having the default xbox component cable thing UNDER my HDMI cable going into the Hauppauge HD PVR?

That would be sweet!
