Hi so im kind of new to all this iPod stuff, im trying to upgrade and iPod touch from 1.1.5 to 2.2.1, i know you have to restore it in iTunes but when i click restore it does it all for me and 1.1.5 end up on it again i have the 2.2.1 ISPW thing, i know its probably something stupid im not doing like holding in a button lol but i tryed getting help on Google, YouTube, everywhere and it was all useless. thank you

Plug it into iTunes, and hit update. Or Shift+Click on restore and select the .ipsw file you downloaded.

and...
when you click restore or update, hold down ALT,CTRL or SHIFT, i can't quite remember which one it is, you will need the firmware 2.2.1

Thank you very much for telling me when i hit restore it just restores the whole thing and its still 1.1.5 how do i get to the point where i select the 2.2.1.ipsw? thanks

Hold shift when you click on restore, and then select the firmware file you downloaded. :bigups:

Hold down Shift then click restore then select the IPSW.
