Ok so iv had my pc for over a couple years now it runs fine but iv got some money im im pretty bored and want to be able to run games with better fps (skyrim, fallout, gta 4 (all modded))

I was thinking of going up to 16 gb ram and overclocking cpu and gpu, also wouldnt mind a new mobo
Any suggestions on parts?

Also use my pc constantly sometime by using site moniters and alot of internet tasks from time to time my current pc can do this quite well as i have not encountered any problems in this situation before, a mobo is idealy what im mostly looking for as my fan i currently have only fits in my mobo 1 way blowing the air down onto the gpu instead of out the back of the case which is not ideal (due to mobo being small the heatsink hits off of the ram therefore only fits in this way)

Cheers guys

A new motherboard is not going to solve the issues with your cooler. A new cooler would help the issue. That said, I don't think you should upgrade motherboard or cooler because you should not be having any temperature issues regardless of CPU cooler orientation.

Only thing I'd recommend doing is adding another 8GB RAM and maybe add another SSD. Overclock CPU for sure, you don't even have to OC that much, 4.3-4.5GHz would be perfectly good and 4.5GHz shouldn't be too hard with a 4690k unless you have some of the worst luck. Other than that, your next logical upgrade is a new GPU IMO, but you don't really have the budget for a significant upgrade and that GTX 970 should still be perfectly adequate. Another 8GB RAM and another SSD should set you back £125-175, so put the remaining £150 or so in savings towards a new GPU. I'd recommend saving until next gen nVidia GPUs launch and grab an xx70 card(GTX 1170, 2070, 696942070 - whatever the hell they end up calling it). xx60 tier GPU next gen should be equal to a GTX 1070(and SHOULD be priced around £250), so that would also be a reasonable upgrade if you want something cheaper than xx70 tier when the time comes.
