My computer can run things very well and it use to run everything perfectly, but lately when I play games on steam like player unknown's battlegrounds it freezes every 5 seconds and so does my google chrome. I noticed that my CPU and GPU temperatures look kind of high, could that be the reason?

Post specs. (speccy)

PU Battlegrounds is still new and has trouble running due to non optimized for the most part. As for chrome that sounds like CPU stuttering, something is using a lot of input.

What are your CPU and GPU temps under load?

What actually happens? Do you have to restart your system when it freezes, or just close the task? Will it happen if you turn your system on and do nothing but use Google Chrome, or does it only happen when/after you play that specific game?

Run task manager and what is your cpu, ram, and hard drive percentages are. If your hard drive is the one bogging it down, you might want to run disk check and/or a hard drive test. Also you can check the motherboard caps, doubt they are bad but it can cause problems like this. If your percentages are high for you cpu or ram post back what they are and the process ruining.
