I understand there isn't much you can do to a laptop upgrade wise, however would I benefit from adding 4GB more ram? I've had it for a while now, a Toshiba Satellite C50-A-1DV, which has 4gb ram and seems decent enough, I only play Gmod and minecraft on it. Would upgrading the ram make any noticeable difference to them? Also is there anything else you can upgrade or is that it? I've never really touched PC hardware before. Also im thinking of getting a new mouse, is this one any good? - [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Thanks for any help people can give!
Also regarding ram, how would I know which ram is appropriate if there's a difference?

4GB to 8GB of RAM would make a huge difference. With 4GB you'll have about 80% of memory being used with 8 about 40% ensuring a smoother experience.
With small to no knowledge about upgrading g laptop hardware I'm pretty sure you can't upgrade your CPU so if you really want to upgrade to play more demanding games then your best bet is a PC

Not planning to play any other games, minecraft and gmod are quite enough for me as the rest I play on Xbox One. Just want to know and be reassured there'll be a noticeable difference plus which ram to actually buy, and whether i'd need new drivers, ram thats the same as the previous etc

Regarding the RAM I do not know if you're actually able to upgrade that either.

In that case yes upgrade, there's a big difference especially for Garry's MOD which is quite demanding sometimes

I wanna know if it'll be restricted by other hardware limitations, such as the amazing intel HD graphics 4000 xD, or the processor etc. I dont know much at all about that stuff

Get a SSD if you can. The RAM will help you a bit in the long run and allow a 64bit OS to run smoother.
That mouse is iffy, if you are going for light gaming it is fine but anything competitive a logitech G series would be fine, or if you're not wanting to pay the premium redragon mammoth is a good choice for the price + overkill lmfao.
But RAM and a SSD will show performance, you're going to have to go through the process of migrating your HDD to the SSD but the performance will be more subtle.

Do not expect 4GB ram to increase your Gmod performance massively as people have been saying above, that is incorrect.
Gmod is GPU & CPU dependant. You will hardly be able to tell the difference during play, if you upgrade the RAM.
