I mean the division hits all the things you said you wanted but I personally don't enjoy it that much anymore, however if you haven't tried The forest or Rust yet I recommend them, also Ark as well.

Rust is a good survival game, definitely one of the better ones. It's currently in the current humble bundle for less than $5 which really is a steal. It is a game where you sort of needs friends to play with but there are a lot of clans and im sure you could find one. However it doesn't really have an overrall grind for rare items. Each server you reset and they reset the servers fortnightly (for the most part) but there is a grind to build a good base and get good weapons and gear to raid but like I said, it will only last about a fortnight before you have to reset. Some servers reset more or less often but if they take too long to reset you will see 2 clans just dominate the map.

The forest is all right, but it is primarily a single player game though it does have CO-OP. its fun but it can get quite boring if it not your cup of tea.

Can't comment on ark haven't played it but as far as I can tell it's a dinosaur version of rust with shady developers.

The long dark is a completely solo experience survival game and it is really good. It's not PVP, it just you vs nature and the cold.

I am not a big mmo player myself but I have heard good things about EVE online, which is a space simlike mmo but I heard the grind and learning curve is massive.

You also have all those war mmo's. like world of tanks, war thunder, the ship ones.

Outside of that I can't really recommend anything that fits your criteria.

It doesn't fit your criteria but dota2 is a good free game which is constantly updated. You have cs:go which is a popular FPS with a decent skill ceilings and requires a bit of learning. Both have rare cosmetics you can get if thats your thing.
Also been playing a bit of overwatch recently which is a good casual competitive game which is easy to pick up but still have a decently high skill ceiling so there is a lot of room to grow as a player.

Hope this helps!

Try Dota2. Alot of smurf players about but once you get into it, its damn addictive!
