Just as the title says, this is my first time putting together a PC. I have next to no idea what I am doing, and I will be guided by whatever videos I can find to help this process along. All parts were purchased new from either Newegg or Amazon, so hopefully everything will be fully functional when assembled.

I know it may be late for recommendations on parts, but one of my biggest concerns is that my selected motherboard is unreliable. I read both positive and negative reviews about it, and I am wondering if it will be adequate for my needs.

I plan to use this PC for running programs needed for classes at my university as well as moderate gaming. I do not have an extensive steam library, but i plan to purchase some games that'll push my system a bit (Battlefield 1). When I complete this build I would like to benchmark what it is capable of. Are there any guides to doing that one this site that I could follow? Along with that, my concerns post-build include software issues such as installing the proper drivers and things of that nature. I have no clue what order i should download/install stuff in, and any advice would be much appreciated.
This is my first time on TTG in a long while; it feels good to post again. I'll definitely be around the PC threads a lot more now that I'll have a rig of my own. I hope to offer the community fresh content as soon as possible! I'm excited to start this adventure, and I can't wait to see the results!
UPDATE: I put together all of the components besides the GPU, and I tried plugging it in to my monitor from the motherboard. All of my fans started up when I powered the system on, and my motherboard lit up its 'bios 1' light. Is there something that causes no signal to be sent to the monitor that I am missing? I feel like I have everything plugged in properly. Any help is appreciated.
Okay everybody, I have officially finished my build. Everything is looking great, and I'm ready to use my new beast. I plan on running benchmark software soon. If anyone has any recommendations as to what I should do with my new system please drop a comment below or message me. I would love to know what I can do now that I have a nice piece of hardware. I can post some pics upon request! I can share benchmarks soon if anyone is interested as well.

Go back over everything and make sure everythings fitted properly. Are there any flashing lights on the board when you start it up? May be giving you code then have a look in the motherboards manual to see what it means.

Thanks for the reply, I found that the RAM slots on the motherboard were not working for whatever reason. Switching to the 'A1, B1' slots as opposed to the 'A2, B2' slots (what the manual said had the highest priority) fixed the issue I was having. I just finished installing most of the software I plan to. Looking forward to benchmarking my new toy soon!
