What is your budget and currency? 800-900 GBP
Do you need a monitor? Yes, 1440p monitor
Do you need a keyboard? No
Do you need a mouse? No
Do you need an operating system? No
What will you use the PC for? Mid range gaming, would like to have future proofing though. I'm spending this sort of money after selling my AMD build for a really good price to a friend, so I can move to Intel and future proof for a few years as much as possible.

Thanks in advance guys. I'm pretty certain I've got a decent build in my mind with a 6600k, GTX 1060 etc but second opinions are always most welcome and needed!

Will you be overclocking the CPU or not? No point getting a 6600k if you aren't going to overclock it. GTX 1060 isn't out yet, releases on 19th, no idea on pricing in the UK, but I imagine it'll be around £250.

Any specific reason you want a 144Hz monitor? I'd advise a nice IPS 1080p monitor, or even 1440p instead. Also, do you need the monitor within the £900 budget? Because a 144Hz monitor, 6600k and GTX 1060 will set you back £650.

Yes, I'm hoping to overclock the CPU to about 4.2 GHZ, maybe more depending on the chip lottery lol

I know it isn't out yet, but I was going to get the RX 480 but if the rumours are true, the 1060 should be better and I'd always choose Nividia over AMD

I suppose I could go for a 1440p, and yes I would need that inside the budget.

Sorry for late reply, busy work schedule.

If you want it within budget, you'll need to just get a 1080p monitor, or an i5-6500 and cheaper motherboard which would mean no overclocking. RX 480 is just a placeholder, don't get a reference GPU anyway. Either get an aftermarket 480 or an aftermarket GTX 1060. 1060 releases June 19th, should see aftermarket variants immediately, and we should see aftermarket 480s on the 14th I think. Add an HDD when you have some spare cash, maybe add another 8GB RAM when you have a spare £25 or so, but 8GB is fine for now. That Cryorig cooler is an absolute steal at that price, grab it while you can.
