It's compatible. PCPP would tell you if it wasn't. However, it wouldn't be a good purchase. No SSD in a $1k+ rig makes no sense. GTX 970 makes no sense anymore. RAM is waaayyy over-priced. Don't pay almost $100 retail price for your OS. Buy a key from Kinguin or G2A for $20-$30.

Get a GTX 1070 with this. Do not buy a "Founders Edition" 1070 though. SLI support so you can add a 2nd GPU at any point. Nice big SSD. Get an HDD as well if you want/need. Cheaper case, but the Eclipse P400 is still a great case. If you want to fit the i7 within budget, you'll probably have to get an RX 480 instead of the GTX 1070. RX 480 still makes more sense than a GTX 970. 480 releases on June 29th for $199 and will most likely out-perform a GTX 970. You should be able to pick up an 8GB aftermarket RX 480 by mid July which is what I suggest if you go for the i7 with AMD option instead of i5/NVidia.

I posted a PCPP link with 16GB RAM, an SSD and cooler. Take a look at it. I'd personally go with an AIO but a high end air cooler would also be a good choice. Up to you. If you're rendering a lot, maybe go with the 6700k and get a nice aftermarket 8GB RX 480 when they release. The 480 will still be pretty overkill for 1080p anyway so the only reason to get a GTX 1070 with the i5 instead is if you're playing AAA titles a lot at 1440p, or 4k.

That would be fine, but you'll need a case.
