Hi All,

I'm looking to get into PC gaming and this would be my first PC build so I'm new to this.

I've set my budget to between £450-£550. I'd like a decent PC that shouldn't need any upgrading for some time and can handle most games on high settings.

The games I'd like to play would be Assassin's Creed, Skyrim etc.

I've taken a look around and created a parts list: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . I've seen benchmarks for the I5 & GTX 960 and it would suit what I'd use the PC for, but I'm open to suggestions for changes to the list, or a completely different parts list.

I'm not too fussed about colours, preferably not a white case though.

Thanks in advance.

Forgot to mention the budget is only for the PC alone, no monitor/keyboard/mouse included.

I think these are some pretty decent swaps; the GPU is only a little bit more expensive for the extra 2 GB of memory (which I think is pretty worth). I also swapped out the 1 x 8 GB of RAM for 2 x 4 GB's of DDR3-2400 RAM mostly just as a fail-safe (Don't want the 1 x 8 stick dying and then being left with nothing) and it's quite a bit faster for just a little more money. The last thing I swapped out was the PSU; while lower in wattage I believe that it should be enough to sustain your build and the extra efficiency is really nice (Bronze vs Gold rating). Hope these suggestions help.

Also sorry if prices are a little high; it was a little confusing to do since I'm from America.

No point buying into haswell at this point in time. H97 board is pointless given that it supports XFire but you chose a GTX 960 instead of a AMD card. R9 380 > GTX 960. No SSD? That PSU is laughable at that price. 212 Evo... and you're over budget.

Newer and better. Better CPU, cheaper motherboard. SSD for for OS and games etc. Add a HDD when you can. 380 which will perform better than a 960. Better PSU for cheaper and a decent but cheap case.
