It all depends on your play style. Whether you are a rusher or a sit-back and camp kind of player, you need to be comfortable with your style of play.
If you like to rush, then I would suggest pushing up, getting a few kills, then falling back a little bit. If you like to sit back, then I would suggest taking it slow, get a few kills, then move spots.

Hey!
For me I would say get a gun that you are comfortable using. For me its the Man-o-war, Vmp or M8. Then you want to find a safe place on the map that you can patrol that has decent enemy traffic. Next you want to get streaks that are possible for you to get. I wouldn't just aim to get the highest kill streaks out there. I would aim to get like a UAV, then a hellstorm and then something else like wraith or raps or something along those lines.
It takes a while to get use to changing up your play style but its worth it in the end once you get those streaks that you are aiming for!
