is there any way to update from iOS 8 to 9.1 or below? iOS 8 is just about outdated as far as cydia tweaks. I was told I can't because Apple stopped signing 9.0-9.1 a while back, but is there any way around it? thanks

No, no way around it. Apple doesn't sign it therefore the device will not install is because it is basically a 'foreign' or 'illegal' iOS
