My new PC arrived today but without an OS. I've downloaded windows 8.1 off the internet and put it on the USB.
I have finally managed to run it (after running some code) but it gives me an error message saying "BOOTMGR is missing Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart".
Doing this just sends me back to this message. I checked in the folder that I'm getting windows from and it includes this file. I can't open any control panel or anything it's literally just a black screen (as no operating system is on it). If anyone can help I will forever be in your debt

sounds like the iso wasn't correctly set up on the disk/usb

If you have a spare usb laying around that 10gb + I would suggest you get a program like rufus or xboot
These programs are used to create bootable usb's. They're incredibly easy to use too, you just select the os and its architecture (32v64bit) and then just click ok and let it install the os to the usb
I've never tried it on a dvd but I would imagine its the exact same process. If you're having any more trouble just let me know and I'll try and guide you through it.
