Did they patch the glitch that if you exit the game when you die you will keep the same amount of that specific gobblegum you had before the game started?

Going for high rounds on Xbox one and only have 2 perkaholics so would be appreciated if someone helped me with this

Not to sure if they did try it with a gobblegum you dont use or try unpluging your ethernet before the game ends?
