SoI understand that this isn't an automotive section, but I need to figure this out quickly. Yesterday I peel coated my rims with rustoleum the proper way. It was 35f yesterday outside. 3 Hours after I finished my rims I drove my car, roads were clear. Came home rims looked fine went to bed. Woke up to it just under freezimg and snowy roads. Had to drive to my class. Came back from my class and realized some of my layers thinned out. I put my car in the garage just now (Furnace in garage connected to house so cannot spray in there) to warm up my car to redo as much as I can get out of the cans. I will be pulling it out in about 20 minutes to redo them using the car defroster method to keep the cans warm. Once I am finished, when I pull it back into my heated garage will it be okay to drive in 3 hours on the freeway? Or should I hold off? The weather is just going to get colder and worse and don't want my rims looking like poo. Will it bond in 3 hours in a 75 degree garage?

KxrL wrote Can't say Ive had the same problem but with my limited knowledge of cars I would say let it sit for 5/6 hours to let it properly sit, if you need to go somewhere I would suggest walking or hitch a ride from your friends if they weather is getting colder then k would suggest just waiting the 6 hours or even letting it sit through th pe night

Hope it helped
My option might be to take my moms car, let it sit as long as possible

Any painting, be it plati dip, spray paint, or regular paint should be sitting in generally 75 degrees for 24+ hours to properly cure. Heating cans of spray paint isn't a good idea, unless you bring them in the house over night to let them warm up over the course of the night. Make sure the paint, and the project being painted are warm as well as paint does not work well on, or in the cold. Read the back of the spray can, generally it will tell you the boundaries.

It's not like it won't stick to a cold surface, it just won't bond as well when the paint is cold, or the project is cold.
