Recently in the past week or so my PC seems to be having loads of performance issues

i'm getting frame drops and massive cpu usage spikes for some reason when doing anything such as watching videos or playing games
i've not installed anything new either besides steam games so i dont know why it could be happening

spec
Intel i7 3770k
Corsair Vengeance 16gb
Geforce GTX 970 G1 Gaming
Gigabyte UD5H-Z77
Corsair CX750M

anybody got any ideas?

Does it happen when trying to perform certain tasks?

What driver versions are you running.

Have you looked inside your task manager to see if there are ridiculous processes running when watching videos or playing games? Maybe something malicious was installed and you just didn't know about it until now.

Might try running some anti virus/maleware to perhaps fix the issue.
