I have Xfinity Blast and my internet has been slow recently so I had an Xfinity Technician come to my house and see if he could solve the problem. He said that my devices in one room of my house are picking up too many other networks and the available networks are causing me to have slow internet. His suggested putting aluminum foil on my windows to block signals from other networks. I thought he was joking but he said he was serious. The other option is to have another router put upstairs. Will the foil work or do I need another router?

Unless you're living in a highly congested area, and all your neighbors have wireless networks there is no need for aluminum foil on the windows.

Download a wifi analyzer, such as [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] , and see what wifi networks are nearby and what channel they're broadcasting on. Screencap all the networks it picks up, along with the channel info and post it here for better troubleshooting.

Glass from your windows will reflect other wifi from interfering with you.
best thing to do is stick a Access point device up in the room your in..

also like forest said use a wifi analyser to see what's around.

Rather run a WiFi Analyzer tool to check what channels the other networks are broadcasting on and change your Wireless network to a channel which will have the least interference for best results.
