Correct me if im wrong but i dont think he did get last year it was ramos, silva, luiz and lahm as defenders.

Dani Alves was not in last year's TOTY. This year he is more than likely in the TOTY and he deserves it this year. Any Real Madrid player besides Ronaldo will probably be the new Dani Alves.
