Yes emulators are great on PC and they are fully legit. Fully backwards compatible so you can play all Xbox 360 games, PS3, and even Wii if you wanted too.
Imo the best Xbox 360 emulator on PC is Xenia. It's easy to download the ROMs too. I had one on my old PC and used it to play Halo 3.
If you PM me I could go through setting one up with you. They aren't hard at all, I'm sure you could do it yourself.
Hope this helped!

emulators are great for PC but xbox 360 ones are still in dev, and don't work very well
it is going to take them a while to make it so sit patient
but there is other emulators for PS2, NDS, Gameboy etc.

Yeah they are still working on an official Xbox 360 emulator. The main guy who is in charge with that (I forgot his name) said that it isn't in is full interest to do it until they finish and release the Xbox One backwards compatible feature. My guess is that there won't be an official 360 emulator until late 2016.
However they are a few decent third party emulators that you could use. Like I mentioned before I've had good experiences with the Xenia 360 emulator.
