I have just bought some Astro A40 M80 and they have a horrible crackly noise when I turn my xbox on/off also the mic doesnt really work properly, any help would be appreciated.

Send them back and explain what the issue is and ask for a refund or a new pair.

Why does it matter if they crackle only when you turn it on and off? If they are faulty refund them and tell them the problem

If it's only when you turn it on I wouldn't worry about it.
