Right this is the story i changed my name from a gamertag that i have had for a long time to a team name and made a new account for the gamertag i liked so no one could take it and now i want to change it back to my original name i no it will cost more im fine with that but i need to no if i can have the same name again before i do this please help i no its confusing but i would really like to no if i can do this thanks

I don't think you could change it back, i have tried and it didn't work

Contact tech support they will be able to check if your email was connected previously and may be able to reinstate. I don't know if they can reinstate but i know they can tell what email has been associated. You will need to know all the details for the lost account.
