Hey I want to jailbreak my iPhone 5 for all the cool tweaks and things you can do with one. I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 8.3 and was wondering if anyone can give me a tutorial or explain to me how to do it. And was also wondering if it matters if I updated my phone to iOS 8.3 OTA ( Over the Air ), because people say if you did update OTA that it will screw it up somehow.

Thanks !

I strongly recommend you don't do this because 250,000 jailbroken iPhones have been hacked into.

I did see that this happened, heard it was because people were installing unsupported repos, could be wrong though.

My iPhone 5S has been jailbroken for a while, without anything happening to it. Guess I don't have that repo installed.

About the hack: Forums/p=38351611.html#38351611

Also, to jailbreak your iPhone 5 on 8.3 go [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and download the Taig tool.

Disable Find My iPhone and Passcode lock on your device (you can turn it back on when you're done)

Connect your device to your computer

Run the TaiG tool and it should detect your device.

Uncheck the 3K assistant, but keep Cydia checked

Click Start

Wait until the jailbreak completes. If you see storage full errors, just ignore those

Once the jailbreak completes, find the Cydia app on your Home screen and launch it and you're good to go.

If you get stuck on 20% then you might need to downgrade you iTunes. If this happens, let me know and i'll tell you how to do it.
Also, about the OTA update thing, you should be fine.

It's safe to jailbreak it, no one will get in your phone unless you download random repos. Be safe
