What's up guy's, I'm going to be making a quick tutorial on how to add an animated light strip (That's what I call it) To your avatar.

There maybe quicker or easier way's to do this but this is the way I'm going to do it.

1.
First make your new layer, This will be what you want the light stripe to go threw.

2.
Create another layer, Then create a Rectangle shape, Make it around the same size of the page, Sometime's you need it bigger, Just mess around with it until you get it perfect.

3.
Once you have made the rectangle, Rotate it 30 degree's clockwise.

4.
After you have done that, Move it so it isn't over the text, Like so.

5.
After you have done that, Change the opacity of the shape to anyway between 50-75%.

6.
Once you have done this, Hover between the text layer and shape layer, Hold your ALT key and you will see a symbol that is a box with a downwards arrow, Click the left mouse button, Then this will happen.

7.
Hold the shift key and move left and right, You should see your shape inside your text, If so just move it back to where it was, If you can see it you done it right.

8.
Now you can edit your text by adding some layer style's to it. Make sure when you have done you right click on the text layer and click, 'Rasterize Layer Style'

9.
After that you should see the shape appear back in the text.

10.
After that, You can move the shape layer all the way to the left so it is out of sight.

11.
Now it's time to add a background, Add a new layer and insert a picture to it, Make sure it's the bottom layer.

12.
Once that is done, Click the 'Duplicate's Selected Frame' button, If you don't have this showing at the bottom, Click window and then Timeline on the top of the page.

13.
Now select the shape layer, Hold shift key and drag the shape all the way to end of the text on the right so it isn't showing.

14.
Now click 'Tween Animation Frames' button.

15.
This box should appear, Just click ok.

16.
You should now have 12 layer's in your timeline. If so you have now made a light stripe animation.

17.
Now save the project file in your desired location, Then go back to file and click 'Save for web' This box should then appear, Copy my render setting's.

18.
Congratulation's you have now finished, Now equip you new avatar and I'll see you around.

It's fine bro, And the reason for that is because your not Rasterizing the layer style. That's the only reason I can think of.
