True but the Xeon is the better choice for video editing purposes and the board for the advantage of SLI but with the amount of money willing to be spent on the rig then either way is fine.

Add an SSD aswell. You will definitely benefit from the 10 cores on the xeon, especially for video editing and stuff like that. And the 980Ti will last a good couple of years before all the VRAM is used.

however I doubt he will be needing a xeon when a 5820K allows the same performance and can be overclocked to make it even better.
