Jfc. He doesn't agree with you. You're being a child. Just stop. That goes for all of you. Stop spamming and flaming, it's ridiculous. This section is for users who need help with PC components to come to, and get help from those who know what they're talking about. That means shit suggestions don't belong here and you can't use the excuse "well, OP should pick up on the fact my suggestion is shit" to defend your suggestion. The Pentium is not a good choice, nor is the GT 730. The GT 730 literally makes no sense, other than in business situations where multiple monitors are needed for workspace, and not for gaming. Even then, the GT 630 is better than the GT 730 and similarly priced AMD cards might even make more sense.

"the GT 630 is better than the GT 730"
That makes no sense dude, Why would they downgrade when going up a generation... I'm actually being serious right now... can you link me to a page with the specs of both cards, the 384 CUDA core models of course... bc I know they both have a Clock speed of like 900MHz(General Area).
My question is the difference in pixel rates, texuture rates, texture mapping units
, and the memory bandwith, between the two... I tried looking it up on GPUboss but it only compared the 384 CUDA core 730 to the 96 CUDA core 630..... No hard feelings about earlier tho xD

GPUBoss is not a reliable source.

"NVidia today launched the entry level GeForce GT 730 graphics card. The card comes in three variants. The first uses DDR3 memory with a 128-bit interface. The second uses DDR3 memory with a 64-bit interface, and finally there is a GDDR5 version with a 64-bit interface. Most models will use a low profile design and a single slot active cooling system.
The 128-bit variant uses the GF108 GPU, last used on the GeForce GT 630 and GT 620. It is basically a rebranded GT 630, with the same clock speeds as a GT 620. It has 96 CUDA cores, clocked at 700 MHz, with 16 TMUs and 4 ROPs. This gives it a theoretical maximum throughput of 11.2 gigatexels/s and 2.8 gigapixels/s, as well as a potential compute power of 268.8 GFLOPS. It also has 1024 MB DDR3 memory, with an effective clock speed of 1.8 GHz on a 128-bit interface, and a bandwidth of 28.8 GB/s.
The second variant is based on the GK208 GPU, and has 384 CUDA cores. It also has 16 texture units and 8 raster operators. The core is clocked at 902 MHz, making it the same as a GT 630 version 2. Even the 2048 MB DDR3 memory hasn't changed from the previous generation, with a 64-bit bus and 1.8 GHz effective clock speed. Thus, it is just a rebranded GT 630 with no attempt at any improvements in the hardware. It offers throughputs of 14.43 gigatexels/s and 7.22 gigapixels/s, and a compute performance of 692.7 GFLOPS. It also has a bandwidth of 14.4 GB/s."

The only 730 that is actually better than any 630 is the 730 with GDDR5 memory. GT 630's tend to cost less, however.

The 128-bit GT 730 with DDR3 memory uses the GK108 core, same as the GT 430 with the same speeds, it's literally the same card as the GT 430, but they're going to be harder to come by now-a-days. The GK208 630(or GT 630 rev 2) is a better GPU than the 64-bit or 128-bit DDR3 GT 730.

Well good to know I spent the extra $20 and got the GDDR5 version of the 730 xD I should have just gotten an r7 260x but I needed something that didn't need any power connectors... the 730 was the best choice at the time for me, Good price, decent performance, was pretty much only getting it for light gaming and to speed my PC up... I think it's a good card but some how my CPU is holding it back, atleast on battlefield... Would you mind making a $300 build on Partpicker real quick... I would prefer going with an intel CPU as they have better performance but a AMD chip would be fine... tbh I'm not the best at getting the most bang for your buck, more like... meh bang/ It was worth it

I already have a GT730, I feel the 610 would be a downgrade... also I already have a monitor/TV

Posted this monday night, didn't get to look at it yesterday, and came back to it now, thurday, 1am here, and theres 38 comments! Was like, oh fantastic. Read through them, and was like, mmm, ook, oh goodness... Haha. Lots of argueing, but some useful information. So there were three builds listed, first one caused all the "debate", the [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] both seem fair. I think i am kinda digging Sanctorum's build a little more though, for a couple reasons, one being it like he said, not using money on a low gpu which will eventually be replaced, and leaving it open for expanding when he saves more money or w/e. Also, im not sure the exact dollar amount he has, but that is probably pretty close to the ceiling, but would it be beneficial to swap out for a small ssd rather? I sent him a text to see exactly what games he plays, because if its just one or two, would imagine could fit them on the ssd. Only reason im saying that, is because i remember when i first switched to ssd, was like day and night.
But what do yall say, lock in on [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ?
Btw thanks all, read through all of them, even the arguments :b
