Hey TTG,
Its been a while since I've been on here but I figure I'd like to start posting and browsing on TTG more often, i definitely miss it.

Ok right so on to my problem. I'm 16 (almost 17) and have my license. I work 2 jobs. One at a pizza shop, the other at a ski shop. I work my a** off and save every cent I can. I am looking to buy a car, however, i have a few minor constraints:

My parents seem to sway their minds quite often. One day its "no you can't buy a car" the next its "i like that car, lets go checm it out." I have on several occasions arranged to look at cars and have even gotten to the point hours before i was supposedly going to buy a car but inevitably they changed their minds.

My friend Joe is also an avid car enthusiast as is my friend kev. Joe owns an Evo 8 and WRX and a Hyuandai Genesis Coupe and he's only 17! My friend kev knows just about everything there is to know about cars and is one day dreaming of owning 240sx thats built to drift .

My problem: I want a car that is fun, moddable, and cheap. It needs to be something that my parents will say yes to. I want something that turns heads but isn't expensive. I also live in New York so the winters here are tough so AWD is a huge plus. Give me your suggestions!

I have checked out in the past a GTI non-turbo vr6 and an Impreza RS. I got really close to buying the RS but due to shotty repairs it wasnt worth my time and my parents were not exactly thrilled either

And please no civics, i am not lookin to become a ricer

Thanks guys!

What's your budget op? It would be easier if we knew what we were dealing with.

Gotta go for Golf GTi or Ford Focus brother, they can turn into some cool modified cars.

Sorry my man completely forgot to give ya guys my budget! Lookin at around $2800-$3500. To me, body condition isnt a big deal. Im used to almost every car having rust due to the salt and winters in NY. Also the model year and mileage arent big to me either. If it runs with some TLC then I'm interested.

Thank god that you are not trying to become a ricer. I would come through the computer and smack you lol. My first car was a 1999 Jeep grand cherokee (Still have) I got it when I was 15. Bought it for 1500 cash, all my mowing money. I always wanted a mustang, and my grandparents got me a 2001 v6 automatic mustang. I had it until I was about 17 and 1/2. That's when I decided it was time to step it up. I went with my dad, (Keep in mind I have had a job for a while) and we went to the bank and got me approved for a $15,000 loan. I went and drove 5 hours and picked up my 2007 mustang GT Premium. 5 speed. I absolutely love it. I have one of the nicest cars in my school. I am a senior now, and everyone loves my car. It has only 50,000 original miles on it. I have gotten it tuned, put a full exhaust on it and put a HUGE Cold air intake on it. Just saying, I love this car almost as much as life.

Well, there's my post

This was the day I bought it over 7 months ago.

I know its not a 4wd.. and the insurance will kill you if you live like in new york city, but I absolutely LOVE my 2003 Mustang GT. Its fast af' and its incredibly easy to mod them, and its not to expensive. You could easily find one for 4k with like 110 ish miles.
