My cousin is about 13 and been asking me to help him with a gaming pc lately. He says hes got about $450, but that has to include a monitor. I already told him that, that will not get him much, but want to see what we can do for him. Not to sure on what he plays, but just assume minecraft and entry stuff. Someone helped me build my ~$1k rig about 9 months ago, and am very happy. Would be awesome to see what we can do for him.
Thanks all.

This is about the best he's gonna get.... He'll need another $50 but it'd be perfect for minecraft, cod(none after BO2 if he wants 60fps), even some battlefield

Thanks man, was starting to think no one was ever going to respond! :b
I'll have to show this to him and see if he wants to go through with it.
Thanks again.

haha yeah man.... Tbh that setup is actually better than mine rn xD I am using a Emachine EL1352-07e with a GT730 in it.... works pretty good, if he can save up even a little more money he could get a GTX750 TI which is around $130 and he'll be able to play battlefield on high to ultra settings in 720p buttersmooth.... If I were you I'd tell him to save until he can afford the rig with the GTX 750 TI and not the GT730 bc the GT730 is VERY entry level and the GTX750 TI is mid range

That's a terrible suggestion, wtf. GT 730? Ew.

A little more than $5 over budget;

Dude the kid is 13... most he's gonna be playing is minecraft or some call of duty.... Plus AMD APU's are shit imo... rather have a dedicated GPU than a APU

What's the point in buying a shitty GPU over a decent APU? When they decide to upgrade, they can buy a better GPU having not wasted money on a crappy dedicated one.

*facepalm*....dude, if you had also read my other comment, I said that if he could save up a little more money that he could get a GTX750 TI.... the GTX750 with the G3528 is an excellent combo

750(Ti) is a useless card when the 260X is better for the same price
G3258 is ok as a placeholder, but wouldn't recommend as a long term chip either.

is the 260x better? I haven't actually read up on it... mint af dude.... and yeah I was just going with it bc of it's good speed and OC capabilities... I would upgrade to and i5 after a year or so or when ever I'd upgrade the GPU
