Today in a shock development President Barack Obama granted clemency to 46 drug dealers, consisting of both men and women.
Obama said the move was part of his larger attempt to reform the criminal justice system, including reviewing sentencing laws and reducing punishments for non-violent crimes. With Monday's announcement, Obama has commuted more sentences than any president since Lyndon B. Johnson.
"I believe that at its heart, America is a nation of second chances, and I believe these folks deserve their second chance,"

It's not a pardon, so meh. I don't really care.
They'll still have it on their record for the rest of their life.

You can't say that for certain. Those that re being released are first time offenders. Many of them were even caught up in a shitty situation where they got the finger pointed at them.

I don't have any problems with this, they are non-violent offenders that pose no danger to the public.
I would be annoyed if the likes of murderers and rapists where given a "second chance" as those type of people deserve the whole sentence without exceptions.
Not from America btw, just sharing my opinion on the matter.

Good. Having drugs on you shouldn't be years or life in prison. It is absurd. I mean, 46 is a very small number, but it is a start. Also, why does the title of this thread say "drug dealers?" Drug offenders and drug dealers are two different things.

A clemency just lessens a sentence its not a pardon.
