Got a little Situation With the old PS3 And Have no thermal Paste to Fix the problem.

Need a Quick Fix Substitute for Thermal paste (Only needs to work for about 5 minutes)

Does anyone Have any Ideas of substances that would work. similar to thermal paste that could be found in most Houses.

Just need a YLOD Quick fix too last a few minutes. (don't need perm Fix)

Google/YouTube: recommend toothpaste and Vaseline - do you think it would work.

Ok I got something but you will have to collect it. Here's how.

1) Get off Yo Ass and get on a source of transportation/walk to your local D.I.Y store.

2) Buy Thermal Paste

3) Go home and apply it all over your Ps3

Problem solved!

Don't be angry, It's only a joke I seriously don't know a substitute for Thermal Paste. Hope somebody can actually help

Well Id suggest going to get thermal paste if I were you, it's not that expensive. But if you dont want to do that then you can try re usung the paste residue thats already on the heatsink. If not their are alternatives but I don't suggest you use the toothpaste milk of magnesia mixture it wont work right and could mess up everything.

You can try to use it without the thermal paste if you just need it working for 5 mins, though I don't see why you just need it for 5 mins.

worse case just take out the harddrive from the ps3 and use it in another if it takes a shet.

1. Normal toothpaste (preferably mint)
2. Mucaine syrup which is used to treat heartburn's, dyspepsia, acidity etc ( Aluminium gel , magnesium hydroxide) you can also use any milk of magnesia which should have the components i listed in the second option bracketts above.

took one half tea spoon of paste and one half tea spoon of Mucaine syrup mix them well until a pasty substance forms now store it in an airtight bottle and keep it in ur refrigerator's vegetable compartment (dont freez it). your thermal paste is ready ...

when you need it to apply just put about a little more than the pea size of this paste on the center of base of ur stockcooler or cpucooler spread its thin film all over the base (i used hyper 212 evo for experimenting) and put it on your processor gently and then fix it
note : many people apply thermalpastes directly on there processors i don't recommend this because a thermal paste consists of metallic or silicon gels which can find there way down from the sides of processor to the mainboard causing motherboard to get short.

He tried this for the:
i5,2500k @ stock values . asus p8z68-v-delux . 1600mhz corsair 8GB at xmp , coolermaster silentpro 850 watts psu , Antec 300
And stated it worked for 3h!

Try it
