If you have like a local market go in there, try butchers little shops etc.. I currently work in a gym and a IT shop! Go to restuarnts, pubs ask for a saturday job etc... someone to wash the plates might be 4 quid a hour but you might work 5 hours a friday night and sunday night thats £40.

Not too bad just stick at it man!

Applying to places is a good start, but if you haven't heard anything back call up businesses and see if they have looked at your application yet. I always interviewed the people that called in about their applications, as they showed motivation for the job. Just don't over do it, and call multiple times a day to get updates.

There are plenty of places who hire part-time staff as they know students are always looking for work. Best things to do is google 'part-time jobs in (and then your area) and check all of the job sites. Could always try phoning stores and seeing if they have any vacancies available for 16 year olds. You could also hand your CV out in smaller stores such as corner shops etc.

You can always call them back and ask them about your app.

Local stores are good places, maybe summer jobs like life guard, ice cream shops, lawn care company.

Currently working at B&Q but people think mcdonalds is easy to get into , its actually rather difficult , they judge it by how far you live and how long you can work for etc

Ok listen closely. Nobody is going to respond to you if you apply online. You MUST go in and speak to them directly. Last year at age 16 I was able get the first job using that technique. NOBODY responded when I applied online
