You can still trade however it is very hard and you get very minimal profit!

1) Redeem coin boosts from the EASFC. Depending on your level in the EASFC, you can redeem coin boosts ranging from 5 x 500 to 10 x 10,000. Redeem all of the ones you can and they can add up to your total coin count.
2) You can attempt to trade. There a re a countless amount of trading methods. The only issue with this is that the market is very difficult to trade with now due to price ranges.
3) Purchasing coins. This is the simplest way but it will cost you real money. Buy a mule account from a trusted seller with the amount of coins you want. Assuming you buy only a few hundred thousand coins and not millions, list many discard bronze cards for their max 5,000 coins on your console with your main account. Then log into your mule account on your console and log onto your main account's FUT account on the EA web app. Use the web app to see the time left for your selling bronze cards and use the mule account on the console to purchase them.

He just started playing Fifa 15 a few days ago

Well when I had about 500 coins what I did was bid 250 on non rare golds and then quick sold them afterwards (roughly 50 coins profit per card). You can then build up to about 5k (an hour or so ish) and do it on a bigger scale. Once he has 20k he can start really trading. The best way to do it is honestly just pick a player, see the average selling price and see can you pick him up cheaper and sell him on.
