I wouldnt recommend norton, its a horrible bit of anti-virus software.
Bit defender is number 2 though!

Windows Defender works good for me, I did have Norton which was actually not bad, it's just over protective of your PC which isn't exactly a bad thing.

The best software, based on stats, is technically ESET NOD32 with the best virus detection percentage.
It's a pretty expensive piece of software though.

I would recommend Avast and Malwarebytes. They offer great protection with their free licenses.

A big part of anti-virus is not being stupid enough to click dodgy things in the first place.
You are the key part to your keeping your system virus free.

I use Windows Defender for real-time and then Malwarebytes every couple weeks or so.

Seriously, Defender will do fine - just don't be an idiot with what you do.

You're all wrong here. There is no 'best' anti virus, never has and never will there is no such thing. Detection rate's do not mean anything to malware that is infecting your computer, there are new malware variants everyday I don't know how people can fully judge an antivirus on its detection rate.Every computer is different expanding on this idea the suggestions of AV vendors users on this topic are giving you may not be as efficient on your computer. Do your own research on what anti virus vendor suits you most. There are anti viruses that are better than others but that doesn't mean that there is one 'best' anti virus.

Take a look at these links you will find these useful . I have cleaned many clients computers over the years and have discovered that paid is not always better than free, before making a decision on purchasing an anti virus try them out first.

I could give you some suggestions but I don't know your current setup, your system specs or your individual needs.

So to answer to this question, the best antivirus is all of them but at the same time none of them. Also remember to use 'Brain.exe' ;)

Take from this as you wish.
