- Immortal.
- Killed the Balrog - an ancient demon - by shouting at it.
- Has existed since the beginning of time.
- Is basically an angel in human form.
- Wields the magic of Earth specifically for the purposes of combat, not to show off like wizards in Harry Potter.

Harry

- Mortal.
- Got lucky with Voldemort being stupid enough to kill himself.
- Got lucky when he was a baby and didn't get exploded by Voldemort.
- Is basically a nugget.
- Wields the same power as all the other witches and wizards.

I think Gandalf would win.
