So, Ive been thinking of jailbreaking my iPhone 5 for a while now, to decide if I wanted to, I jailbroke my iPod, I used it for a couple of weeks and loved it until I got 'the black screen of death'. Should I jailbreak my iPhone or should I not in case I get 'the black screen of death' again? If i do decide to jailbreak it I'm on iOS 8.1.2, on a Mac so I can't use Taig, so is there any other reliable safe jailbreaks?

Jailbreaking my 5 was the best thing i ever done to it. The customization are endless and the features are brilliant.

With TaiG i don't think there is much chance of it bricking, but research that.

Yeah honestly the only reason I have an iPhone is because of the nice, clean-well everything and jailbreaking. I have never had a device-breaking problem that I couldn't fix. I got my iPod 4g a few Christmases ago and jailbreak on iOS 4.2.1. Ever since every idevice I own is jailbroken and is used everyday. I can say that at first you will notice a slight decrease in performance and an overall slower device but you just get used to it. IMO I think every person that owns an idevice should be jailbroken lol

Jailbreaking is safe and definitely worth it. You can do so much with it.

People say it's "safe" but really it's all about how you use it.

You can emulate a Windows machine with a program called Wine. That is the way for you to jailbreak your device via a Mac!

I definitely think it's worth it, so many things you can do and it just makes it a lot better with all the tweaks and customization tools.
