It will most likely take a decent amount of trial and error but, I've seen plenty of people with beards that just looked out of place on them. Get yourself a facial hair trimmer and a beard comb to keep it as even as possible. It'll make it a whole lot easier than using your typical razors.

I was looking at beard trimmers, is there a specific one you would recommend?

I use a Phillips norelco QG3330. I'd link you to it but, I'm currently on mobile and the site just doesn't play nice when it comes to copying and pasting. Either way it doesn't have to be anything fancy. I only paid $20 bucks for mine and it comes with everything you'll need.

I've had a beard for some time now but I tend to shave it off every month to near enough stubble and it grows back quite messy. What I tend to do is take regular showers and make sure to wash your beard and it won't look messy at all, depending on how large your beard is. I'm a teenager and I have to say I'm abnormally hairy for my age.
