Hello, I made a few adjustments to my budget build today and I think it's a pretty decent build. What do you think?

Get this build instead.

Way better GPU, but you still have the option to get the i5 later on down the road, but this will do just fine for a while.

I'll assume you're going to use this machine for gaming, so I will cater my response to that field.

RAM: You definitely want at least 8GB of RAM, and if you can afford it, get 16GB.

GPU: I personally don't like the 750Ti, and I would recommend going with the GTX 960 or 970. However, if you want to save a couple bucks or can't afford it, the 750Ti will do you good for a year or two.

Storage: I would highly recommend getting a [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] to put your Operating System on, as this will make the boot up time for your machine much faster (i.e. less than 10 seconds).

Everything else looks good to me, at least for a $500 PC.

I like Aimi's response in regards to the CPU:

Do not get a $550 Pentium rig. You do not need "at least 8GB of RAM". 4GB of RAM is fine, you can easily and cheaply add another 4GB RAM in the future. Don't waste money on 16GB RAM since you won't use it in gaming.

Add another 4GB RAM and an SSD when you can. You can swap the i5 for an i3, and upgrade to a better GPU if you wish.
