From what I have heard, Dying Light is really great but I also see many people playing Evolve on twitch so that does seem pretty popular.

I would say Evolve because I beat Dying Light fairly quickly and once you hit max level it gets boring

Let me put like this you can beat a game quick but there's so much you can do. For example dying light has quest and those quest can be long some are easy and some are hard if you do quest the game will take longer to beat some people just beat the story line and boom, now the game is boring but is not like that and for the skill that you have to earn is just like points it takes time to level up depending how much you play aswell but I recomwnd dying light it's fun with friends especially when you play as night hunter. Evolve is a great game but is more futuristic I like it but there both different one is zombies and evolve is monsters. Both games are great. If I was you watch videos or read reviews.
