Wondering if a friend has bought a game on there xbox and recovered there account at my house, can i download the game to my xbox and can we both play it / have it? thanks.

Yes you can! Sign into you friends account and make your Xbox their account's home via Games and apps > Apps > Settings > My Xbox > Set as Home. Then download and enjoy!
