Hi there,

Just bought a pc last night and wondering what I can upgrade on it. I just want to be able to play basic games such as mw2. The pc I bought has:
Specifications:
Element Brand New Gaming Case
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @3.0GHz Processor
Intel Corporation DQ35MP Motherboard
4GB DDR2 Ram Memory
250GB Sata Western digital Hard Drive.
Sata Speedplus superwrite master DVD/CD Re Writer
Radeon Geforce HDMI PCI Express 1GB Graphics Card (brand New)
2 x 120mm LED Blue Case Fans
2 x LED Blue Strip Lights
USB wi-fi nano

What else can I put in this to make it faster and smoother

Budget is around 200

The reason it was so cheap is coz it's so old. To get that up to respectable specs for gaming, you will need a lot more than 200GBP...

You could have had a respectable PC with 320 if you didn't buy that heap.

You could upgrade the memory but even then it's DDR2 so it's literally 2 generations old right now.

That processor has no upgradades at all into any good CPUs, motherboard doesn't suppport PCIe 3.0 which means most modern graphics cards won't run at full potential, even if they did your PSU is probably completely poo because it is a prebuilt.

My advice, sell it for $100, cut your losses and try to save about $300 where you could get a basic APU build which would perform miles better.

If you bought it last night, cancel the order or return it if you ought it in store. Use the money and build a decent little rig. $320 won't get you much, but you can get something far better than that.

I have now sold my MacBook and have nearly 400 pounds. What can I build with that?

This is what i'd get, the pentium should power everything fairly well until you want to upgrade to an i3 or i5.
