Hello all. Im in need of some assistance as i would like to update my Graphics card. The only problem i have is that after i updated it i have a black screen before my login screen. Then i have to boot safe mode and either Disable/Uninstall the card. This is extremely annoying as i can use my card without the drivers but it is very laggy. I cant watch videos or play games.
My hardware according to CPUID-Z are:
Windows XP Professional SP3
Intel Celeron 346 3.06GHZ (1 Core)
2 lots of Trancend Information DDR2 512 MBytes or ram
Asus GT610 DDR3 1GB
Shuttle FS31V10 (Motherboard)

Also from looking at the graphic interface through CPUZ it says that the Link Width is x16 and the Max. Supported is x16.

If anyone can help me or has a fix for this then i would be grateful.

My first advice before even helping with the graphics card is to update from XP to Windows 7 or above. Newer graphics cards are supporting older OS's less and less with each new model, it's time for an upgrade for your OS lol

i can understand where you are coming from but on the asus website it says that the drivers work for xp. I am gutted it hasn't but this computer has cost me nothing besides the graphics card and i wanted to try to get it to work so i can do my work on it. I haven't got the money to buy windows 7 yet .

You'd be better off throwing that thing out the window, literally. There is no point in upgrading that considering it has a single core cpu, 1gb of ddr2 ram.

Latest Nvidia driver for that card with 32-bit XP: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

You can use this if you want to try removing any graphics driver software you have installed already: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
