My brother started up his console and he was prompted with a message stating that the software couldn't be started or something . He was then asked to restart his PS3, which he was then asked to connect a storage device which has the up to date data of 4.66 or above. He doesn't recall having any specific storage device. Is there anyway,to get around this problem? Any additional questions? Please as .

your gonna need to download the 4.66 on a laptop/computer then drag to usb. go to sytem update on the ps3 and update the console bro

I think what it means by that is you will need a USB and you have the put the latest update on to the USB and plug it in and update your PS3. Normally it would just do it if you had it connect to your internet but I guess you don't.
