As for OS i would buy a linux CD for 5 bucks to save money or pirate a windows 7/8 onto a USB/CD and just install from there.
I toke out the dual monitors. I added the GTX 970 4GB Super Clocked, it can run any game on ultra/high. i'm new to building to PC'S but hopefully i helped you out.

Linux is free, why would you pay $5 for it? If OP wants dual monitors, why would you remove one?

PSU is poo. H97 doesn't officially support overclocking and no aftermarket CPU cooler so the 4690k is a waste. The only thing that monitor has going for it is a vesa mount. That case looks horrific.

Why not stick to one thread? First your budget was $700, then $800, then $625 and now $1000?

Can you actually tell us your full budget and what you require so we can help you. FM2+ in $1k build is stupid. As is a 280x in a $1k build. Stop looking at AMD. AM3+ is a dead socket and FM2+ is only useful if you're looking for an APU on a very tight budget for performance right now, instead of the upgradability that Intel offers. For any of your 4 budgets so far, you should be going with Intel.

uwot? You payed $5 for Ubuntu because you think it's a new OS? Ubuntu is a Linux distro that has been around for years.
