Sorry for posting on the wrong forum page, but I want to actually get responses since I haven't been on TTG for a few years and it looks like the community thinned out.
I have $2,000 of my money, not my mommy or daddy's, to build a custom PC. Preferably, I'd rather have it pre-built only because my friend lost almost $400 from static shocking his motherboard and I cannot risk any mishaps. It would also be my first PC build and I don't trust myself or friends in building one.
I know quite a bit about PC specs and definitely want a PC that is capable of running games like Far Cry 4 and "next-gen" games in general on max settings. I even want it to run GTA V PC with realistic texture mods when they are released. It would be great if the PC could stream aswell.
If there is no PC out there that can handle this, I'll just keep saving at work. Keep in mind I need a monitor (don't care about 4k, just 1080p) and keyboard. The only minimum requirement I know I need is 16GB Ram because I would like to stream and do video rendering at my college.
The build I've been looking at so far is the Pegasis build, but want some other opinions, especially if it's a bad build or overpriced. The most I'm willing to save up for if I really have to is $2,500, but no more. Thanks so much for anyone who can help!

I'm going to buy a Mac next fall when I make another $2,500 just for programming and doing software security work for college. This PC on the other hand will be solely for gaming and streaming, other than writing the occasional word document/simple Comp Sci major programming software.
I definitely won't be buying Apple's magical Retina display that costs $3,000+. I can't get over friends and hipster f@gs at my college who spent well over 3k, maybe even $4,000 on the 17' Retina display top of the line Mac "maxed out" laptop. People need to realize how horribly Apple takes your money just for that damn logo. They cost so much and can't even compare to PC's in many aspects. I'm only buying one so I can assist others or be competent with a Mac when I'm out of college.

I swear to god, if any of you say Alienware...
I would recommend iBuyPower as I got an amazing PC from them that runs BF4 ultra for $740
Or build one.
You can customize their pre-built PC's there too.

Ahh you see well i bought the 13 inch macbook pro with retina display and it cost me 750, because i got 20% off for being a student. But i only got one because i do Graphic Design at university and the guy at PC world said get a Mac! + everyone else in my class pretty much has a mac.

Funny that you mention Alienware, as I'm using one right now. I bought this Alienware Mx14 maxed out laptop when I graduated high school, spending all my savings from summer jobs and graduation money. It was over $1,500 and worked great for the first year. After ONE YEAR, it couldn't handle Far Cry 3 on minimum settings and 90% of AAA games. Now the only thing I can play is League of Legends and World of Warcraft! And I bought this laptop in August of 2012. I had not began my Comp Sci major and knew about PC brands at the time, so I thought the sleek look, name, and shiny lights was the coolest thing in the world.
NEVER BUY ALIENWARE. THEY ARE OWNED BY DELL AND COMPLETE SCAMS. Alienware is worse than Apple because at least Apple sells you overpriced products that function for more than 2 years!
The only reason why I still have to use this Crapware is because I only save about $90/month after bills. Car insurance and maintenance when the transmission, windows, etc. go up always steals money from my savings, so it took me 3 years just to get this $2,000 with another $1,500 I keep for emergencies. Funny how these rich 15 year old kids get top of the line rigs ($2,000+) that they have no idea how to use.

Don't know why you're trashing Apple. They make some quality stuff and have great customer service. For gaming, sure, they suck, but gamers are not Apple's target customers.
Anyway, the "Pegasus" you asked about, it's not a pre-built. It's an Amazon basket of components that you would then have to assemble yourself. I literally have no clue about any pre-built websites, I never research them or anything, at all, because they suck, all of them. You never get what you pay for and more often than not, they use cheaper, low quality components and the more expensive a pre-built, the more you're getting ripped off(usually). I could go on and on about how building a PC is much more beneficial and a much wiser decision but I feel like you wouldn't really care.
I really don't want you to waste $2k on a pre-built. For $2000, you could seriously get a fantastic rig but if you're not willing to build, then you just won't do it. Though, knowing that you've saved for 3 years and that you bought an Alienware thinking it would be good, then regretting it, I really hope you make the right decision.
