From what I've heard, AMD hold their own (or are even slightly better) for low-medium range CPUs

For high range CPUs however, Intel is the only viable option

This might not be 100% accurate, just what others have told me

Your almost right, however the new Pentium g3258 with an overclock out performs the fx 6300 and even the 8320 in some games.

Intel is your best bet if your on a budget so when it comes to upgrading the system all you have to do is swap over the CPU and not the CPU + MOBO as you would if you were with amd.

The Am3+ socket is dead now so intel is a must especially as the the g3258 is out.

Pair the pentium with a Z97 board and your good to go.

Personally I'd go with AMD. You can over clock the poop pout of it. Also I have a pc right now with a AMD cpu and one of the cores died, buuut it still runs like a champ lol

AMD= NO upgrade-ability as intel beats amd price to performance.

Pentium is the overclocking king. Out performs the 6300 and 8320 and is 100GBP cheaper.

Intel all the way.

I recently ditched my 8320 for the all mighty Pentium

Im happy with it, it does exactly what the 8320 done but with less heat

Fix your overclock and it should be fine.
