I purchased a new graphics card and psu for my pc and I plugged them both in. (29 280x 750w psu) when I turned my pc on for the first time of plugging them in it turned on for 1 second, then turned off. There was still power getting to the pc as my gfx card had 2 glowing lights so it wasn't the gfx card. The psu is plugged into the motherboard and gfx card so idk if the motherboard blew up when I turned on the pc for the first time.
If someone is as to help I would be much appreciated.

Soz for grammar and spelling mistakes typing on my phone as I don't have a pc anymore.....
Thanks in advance, Thomas

This sounds more like a power-draw issue.

One possibility is that you haven't plugged in the PCIe cables correctly so it won't actually display from your GPU because there isn't enough power.

The other, I would imagine, is your PSU is faulty. Double check the system with a spare PSU.

Check all the cables are correctly plugged in. Sometimes they can come loose without you noticing if they weren't put in properly in the first place. If everything looks fine, take it all out and build outside of the case. Test with and without GPU, in case the GPU is the issue.

Have you got spare components? If so, test your PSU on a different build. Test everything seperately to find the problem, if you can.

Since you changed the graphics card, you may want to clear the CMOS. However, even if there is a driver conflict with the card, it should not shut down.

Try disconnecting the card from power and using the motherboard's integrated graphics.

I would also recommend just disconnecting from all mains electricity and leaving for a minute and then replugging everything back in. If there's a light from your motherboard coming on, your motherboard can't be blown, so that is out of the equation. On the other hand, if the light is coming from your graphics card, then you must remember that you stated that your graphics card is plugged into your PSU? If so that could be where the power is coming from to project the light you are seeing so the motherboard could be blown.
